Secret Cinema

Internet, boards, social networks.

An invitation to "secret cinema" - which is supposed to hold screenings in places of London, not announced in advance - will it be derelict factory ruins, rooftop of squat, undergdound or forest? - anyway, I received this invitation via Facebook.

Nowadays one can't hide even from the secret things, eh? :)

Can underground cinema survive when you can find anything on the web? - asks Guardian reporter.

Underground Cinema with Salvator Dali

New York, 1962. Salvador Dali visits Jonas Mekas in his loft and together they start making underground cinema (as it was called these days) together. Mostly they involved spraying young beautiful women with shaving foam.

In 2004, police found the remnants of an underground cinema in the Paris catacombs. It had been used by a group called La Mexicaine de Perforation. A group of self-labeled urban explorers who used the invisible and forgotten infrastructure of Paris as their own curatorial venue, putting on exhibitions, concerts, and film screenings. Interview.
