RyanAir bilietai - kaip išventgi kortelės mokesčio

Kaip žinia, Ryanair už pirkimą internetu su kreditine/debitine kortele ima 10 eur už keleivį mokestį. Bet šito galima išvengt keliais būdais:

1) Perkant Visa Electron kortele.

Irishcalypso on CS suggested:

*_Just a tip for those of you who use Ryanair often._*

The airline charges 10 euro per person when booking flights by credit/debit card . There is a way around it though.

If you buy Ryanair vouchers on the website (very easy process) and then use the vouchers to buy your flights, there's no extra charges for using your card.

When you buy the vouchers - You get the code immediately and then you just use that to pay for your flights therefore dodging the extra charges for use of debit/credit card

To which Mike Oyserman commented:

A great method which I have been using for some time and works for other companies like easyjet too, is this:

Open a
www.entropay.com prepaid virtual visa electron card.
Make sure the account is in pounds, not in dollar or euro.

load the entropay card with a bank account or your existing creditcard.

use the entropay visa electron to pay on ryanair.
(attention: the cardholders name will "Entropay User" and not your own name)

because it is a visa electron, Ryanair charges nothing.

Tibet: ent the blackout

Dear friends,

As we mark 50 years since the Dalai Lama escaped to India, a dark curtain is being pulled across Tibet -- foreign media detained and expelled, armed troops patrolling the streets, citizens imprisoned for political purposes. And yet many of these violations will not reach the outside world because communications have been cut off.

Without our immediate support, those who are cutting vital holes in the censorship curtain won't be able to alert the global media or other Tibetans to disappearances and the denial of human rights. Open communication is the best insurance to prevent future infringements from taking place.

Donate today, and help ensure that the flow of information so critical to the Tibetan people isn't shut off completely:

https://secure.avaaz.org/en/tibet_stop_the_blackout

A modest donation can have a major impact:

  • For $90 we can fund transmission of an entire hour of the Voice of Tibet radio network, which provides unbiased news across the Tibetan plateau
  • $25 each from just 100 of us will support a new technology program that allows Tibetans to avoid censorship and safely communicate their plight with the world and each other
  • For $100 from 100 of us, we can help upgrade a radio transmitter just over the border in India, so that it can broadcast deeper into Tibet and China for one month.

Only freedom of information and dialogue among Tibetans and Chinese can help bring a lasting and peaceful solution to the Tibet problem. Click below now to make a contribution:

https://secure.avaaz.org/en/tibet_stop_the_blackout

The situation is dire, and some reports suggest it's getting worse. The Chinese government has even cut phone networks to hinder grassroots organizing efforts by Tibetans and blocked their contact to the outside world – including to Chinese progressives. If we don't help Tibetans access new technologies that can breach the communications blockade, their plight could be silenced behind an impenetrable firewall.

Radio stations, bloggers, and censorship avoidance technologies are like fog-lights out of the dark - and vital to the survival of the Tibetan people. Here is what the Dalai Lama says about Voice of Tibet radio – which your support today can help keep on the air:

"This is the only radio service in [the] Tibetan language with a Tibetan editorial board in charge allowing us [Tibetans] to comment on events of Tibetan interest from our perspective.... I would appreciate [...] if sympathetic organizations and individuals could help Voice of Tibet continue functioning..."

Donate today and help keep critical programs like this one alive – they've never been more urgently needed:

https://secure.avaaz.org/en/tibet_stop_the_blackout

Freedom of information is vital to the survival of Tibetan culture and a key ingredient in securing Tibetan autonomy. It is also a key way to reach out to progressive Chinese in China, many of whom are looking for alternative perspectives and information. As a global community, we can help ensure access to vital information for Tibetans, Chinese and those of us who are beyond the veil.

With hope,

Brett, Ricken, Alice, Paul, Graziela, Ben, Paula, Luis, Pascal, Veronique, Iain, Milena and the rest of the Avaaz team

P.S. Consider donating to support organizations like Voice of Tibet at this crucial time. They need our support now more than ever. Even a modest donation will go a long way: https://secure.avaaz.org/en/tibet_stop_the_blackout

Guerilla Gardening, Seed Balling and Moss Graffiti

Guerrilla gardening as a method and concept of revegetating abandoned spaces is very effective in western cities. It is a show of resistance and also a cultural focus. In India, such practises are seen everywhere and as such are not in an 'activist' mode since the act of planting has deep religious and spiritual significance. <...> guerrilla gardening has become an active method of involving communities to contribute to the green vision of a city in the west. Numerous vacant plots have been converted into fertile productive landscapes.3)4)5)The question which still remains unanswered for the researcher is, how can the act of planting be considered illegal ?6)

A simple and effective method for re-vegetation of degraded landscapes, particularly in semi arid areas is seedballing. To make seedballs we need seeds, compost, clay and water. For rehabilitation purposes, native seeds are mixed together and then, in the correct proportions the seed blend, humus, clay and water are mixed and rolled into small (1 cm or half-inch diameter) clay balls. Seed balls can be made either by hand or by simple machine, depending on labour availability.7)Although not all seedlings within a seed ball will survive to maturity, the appropriate species for each micro location will be there to survive. The clay coating protects the seeds from excess sun, heat, wind, water and pests, while the compost inoculates the soil with beneficial organisms and gives the seeds an extra boost when sprouting time comes. One of the strongest features of this method is that seedballs are simply scattered about the site you wish to re-vegetate, hence avoiding the act of digging.

Moss graffitti. A simple and effective concoction to encourage moss growth.9)The recipe consists of 1 can of beer, 1/2 teaspoon sugar and several clumps garden moss. <...> Now pour the mixture into a plastic container and create some living graffiti. Paint your chosen design on any shaded, damp vertical or horizontal surface. Porous, moisture-retentive surfaces work best (brick, wood, coarse concrete). Soon the bits of blended moss should begin to re-couperate into a whole rooted plant, eventually colonising the whole area.10)

The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon

The Lost City of ZIn April of 1925, a legendary British explorer named Percy Fawcett launched his final expedition into the depths of the Amazon in Brazil. His destination was the lost city of El Dorado, the “City of Gold,” an ancient kingdom of great sophistication, architecture, and culture that, for some reason, had vanished. The idea of El Dorado had captivated anthropologists, adventurers, and scientists for 400 years, though there was no evidence it ever existed. Hundreds of expeditions had gone looking for it. Thousands of men had perished in the jungles searching for it. Fawcett himself had barely survived several previous expeditions and was more determined than ever to find the lost city with its streets and temples of gold.

The world was watching. Fawcett, the last of the great Victorian adventurers, was financed by the Royal Geographical Society in London, the world’s foremost repository of research gathered by explorers. Fawcett, then age 57, had proclaimed for decades his belief in the City of Z, as he had nicknamed it. His writings, speeches, and exploits had captured the imagination of millions, and reports of his last expedition were front page news.

They were never seen again. Fawcett’s daily dispatches trickled to a stop. Months passed with no word. Because he had survived several similar forays into the Amazon, his family and friends considered him to be near super-human. As before, they expected Fawcett to stumble out of the jungle, bearded and emaciated and announcing some fantastic discovery. It did not happen.

The great mystery of what happened to Fawcett has never been solved, perhaps until now. The Lost City of Z is a riveting, exciting and thoroughly compelling tale of adventure by David Grann.

Investigation into so called "War on Terror"

Although it is not in the news - this week, the US Senate is taking its tentative first steps towards establishing an independent commission into Bush’s War on Terror -- an open investigation into torture, detention, wiretapping and illegal transfers to secret prisons across the globe. This is a major development, but as expected there are very nervous and powerful interests who want to bury it.

A Commission of Inquiry is essential to unravel the full extent of eight years of cover-ups, to hold those responsible to account and to prevent such injustice from happening again. It would send a powerful message that the US wants to repair the damage done to human rights by the Bush years, while strengthening the fight against terrorism.

But without a massive global and US show of support, champion US Senators may not rally the numbers needed to have this commission established. Sign the petition -- which will be presented to the Senate Judiciary Committee before they make their decision this week -- and help get an inquiry with real teeth over the line:
