I love January in Lithuania. It's dark, it's gloomy, it's wet and cold, and as such it's the perfect time for brewing holidays.

Welcome to my newly refurbished brew-kitchen. Last week I entered the "dark side" of all-grain brewing with an ambitious resolution to clone two of my favorite English ales - Hog's Back "T.E.A." (Traditional English Ale) and Timothy Taylors "Landlord's". Thank's to Jimsbeerkit forum folks for recipes and tips!

Amerikai nepavyksta išvengti nemalonumų

Anglijoje alaus ingridientų tiekėjas uždaro savo parduotuvę savaitei vardan malonumo, ir uždeda ženklą Gone Fishing. O kas gi vyksta kitoj pusėj Atlanto?

Amerikoje kaip visada krizė. Šį kartą - apynių. Štai kuo pralinksmina Alternative Beverage parduotuvė:

Due to unprecedented demand on supply and a lack of supply in the marketplace, we have had to stop selling hops <...>. Imported hops are hurting as badly as domestic hops but the new harvest on those hops don't come on-line until December at the earliest.

Due to excellerating demand that is feeding this buying frenzy, we are installing limits on the amount of hops that we are willing to sell until supply of the new harvest is determined. We will not fill orders of ONLY hops. We will only fill orders on hops based on recipe ingredients being ordered - at our discretion.

Please, please discourage your fellow brewers from stocking up and we will all get through this together. Panic buying is leading to higher and higher prices and putting extra demand on supply.

Šįkart - užsieniniam dizaine, sulieknėjęs, web prezentacija atrodo kaip iš kokių amerikietiškų nuriebinimo žurnalų. Čia tam, kad nekiltų klausimų, kodėl reikia plastikinės bačkutės už 450 lt, jei galima pasidaryti plastikiniam kibire už 20 lt:)
